Meet Ben

Ben Kjar was born with Crouzon Syndrome, a rare craniofacial condition. As a young boy, doctors told him he would live a different kind of life… and they were right. Ben chose to rise above every challenge and become a victor, not a victim.

Ben became Utah Valley University’s first-ever NCAA Division I Wrestling All-American, and at age 40 he represented the United States at the World Championships in Greece, where he became a Greco-Roman World Champion and earned a silver medal in Freestyle Wrestling.

Today, Ben is an international professional speaker and thought leader, inspiring people and organizations around the world to set bold goals and achieve what once seemed impossible. Through his message of “Call Your Shot,” Ben helps individuals and teams clearly define their goals, surround themselves with accountability, and create timelines that drive real results.

The award-winning film Standout: The Ben Kjar Story toured the film festival circuit and received prestigious awards at every festival it entered. The film has played in select theaters nationwide and continues to rank among top-rated releases. Beginning March 19, Standout will also be available to stream on the Angel Studios platform.

Ben and his wife, LaCol, are the proud parents of three beautiful adopted children, all age 7 and under.Ben believes the truest form of wealth isn’t found in money, but in experiences, culture, and connection with people around the world. When you connect with mankind, you live a truly rich life.
